01 Jul Commissions for a Banqueting Hall
I was asked to produce a series of commissions for an Indian Banqueting Hall just outside of London. This was a particularly exciting project for me having visiting the venue and seeing its grandeur. The restaurateur was particularly keen for me to incorporate the glow in the dark pigments and at night the venue dims its lights. The specification given to me was fairly open ended, colourful and to be a series. I decided upon butterfly markings for my inspiration and this worked really well as it gave me plenty of scope with different colours while still working as an obvious theme. You can see how the pieces transform in the dark in the ‘Banqueting Hall at night’ news which follow from this.
