Poppy Haze

One of my figurative pieces, I really enjoyed painting this piece. The petals of the poppies have been painted with a red pigment in the resin making them slightly translucent and delicate. The greenery is also painted with coloured resin and the various colours bleed into one another giving an abstract element to the painting. Then a misty light adds a softness, which to me gives a nostalgic feeling. Poppies historically conjure up feelings of remembrance so it’s a very inspirational and emotional subject for me to paint.
