In The Shallows

Boldness out of simplicity is a good description of this piece. Although it is painted on a shallow depth frame, there is nothing shallow about what is painted on the canvas, using a resin plaster, I have sculpted smooth, deep shapes and forms which I have intensified by spraying the relief with a jet black aerosol. I rarely limit myself to two colours, but I feel the combination of bright metallic gold and black makes this painting a strong statement piece.
