17 Feb A Few Too Many!
A client approached me with a very novel idea which I myself would never have thought of. He wanted a set of commissions for his wine cellar and he had the idea that his favourite wine label should be incorporated somehow. I took this idea a little further and actually printed off the label onto different transparencies. Over the bottle green back ground I off set these transparencies in between layers of resin. This created a blurred impression…similar to the distorted blurred vision one may experience under the influence of too much alcohol …and so the painting was named. ‘One Too Many!’ My client loved it and for me its great when I have the chance to express a little of my humour! Art doesn’t always have to be a serious business.
